Observations: tech trends often start as silver bullets with bloated expectations and hypes, and eventually when they become predominate, they become scapegoats for all kind of problems and pave the way for later tech trends.
For example, OOP was seen as this all good thing years ago, but nowadays it is used to used as the scapegoats. Instead, functional programming and data oriented design are replacing OOP as the “silver bullets” in the industry.
I think this is an epitome of binary thinking. Further, the actual progress made from those trends is probably far less than they proponents proposes.
